The IX Workshop on Financial Economics of ACEDE was hosted by Universidad Autonoma de Madrid

On March 23 and 24, 2026, the IX Workshop of the Financial Economics Section of ACEDE (Scientific Association of Economics and Business Management) was held at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, consolidated as a reference space for academic exchange in the field of finance.

The meeting brought together researchers from different Spanish universities, who shared work in progress and actively participated in debates on the main advances in the discipline. The quality of the research presented and the involvement of the attendees contributed, once again, to generate a demanding and constructive discussion environment.

The workshop was organized by Nuria Suárez, vice-president of the Financial Section of ACEDE and member of the FiMeGo research group, together with Mayte Tascón (President of the Financial Section). The active role of other members of the group in the organizational tasks, together with the support of the Department of Finance and Commercial Research, and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the UAM, was highlighted.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the plenary lecture by Gabriel Natividad, whose intervention allowed to deepen key aspects of the empirical research, particularly in relation to identification strategies.

In addition, members of the FiMeGo group participated as discussants, including Ricardo Correia and Paulo Maduro, contributing to the dynamism of the sessions and enriching the scientific discussion.

During the meeting, several awards were given for outstanding contributions. The prize for the best paper presented by a young researcher was awarded to David Cabreros, together with his co-authors Gabriel de la Fuente and Pilar Velasco (University of Valladolid). The prize for the best article of the workshop went to David Blanco Alcántara (University of Burgos), Marcos Santamaría Mariscal and Cristina Sierra Calvo. Inmaculada Aguiar Díaz (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) received the award for the best discussant.

This type of meeting highlights the importance of continuing to strengthen the academic community, fostering the exchange of knowledge and the development of new generations of researchers in the field of financial economics.
